The Challenge

Communicating in a timely and impactful way with these companies and people to ensure they see value from their membership is one of the biggest challenges facing Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce. Everyone is busier than ever and we receive increasingly more messaging from a range of sources- much of it electronic. Research continually tells us that there is still appetite for a printed product that can be read, away from desks and is enjoyable as well as informative from a business perspective. So, it’s more important than ever- to readers and Advertisers- that the Chamber’s monthly Business Bulletin magazine (and any supporting materials, inserts etc) is received by the right people at the right place at the right time.

The Solution

It’s vital that all parts of the process work seamlessly and that the various parties involved – the AGCC admin, content & design teams, our printer DC Thomson, our fulfilment house and Royal Mail- all understand their roles and deadlines to ensure copies are received to schedule and that communication and cooperation is excellent if things go slightly off track at any stage of the process. AGCC has worked closely with PPD on the fulfilment and mailing side for around a decade now.

The Results

The team at PPD, many of whom have worked on this project since it started, provide a personal service and understand the Chamber, its product and the importance of getting it right. From receiving and checking the mailing file, liaising with AGCC and the printers through to collection by Royal Mail PPD is the lynchpin of making sure Business Bulletin lands on the right desks, coffee tables and reception areas to spark the conversations and connections that make our business community one of the most dynamic in the UK.

Many of the people involved have, of course, changed over the years and it was very helpful to get all parties together recently at PPD’s premises in Perth to meet, get to know each other, see where the action happens and discuss ways of making the process even better.

The team at PPD, many of whom have worked on this project since it started, provide a personal service and understand the Chamber, its magazine and the importance of getting the distribution of it right and on time.
